Al203 98.5% Black carborundum for Ceramics
Description
Black silicon carbide is produced in a substantial temperature electric resistance-variety furnace from a combination of quartz sand and petroleum coke. The hardness of black silicon carbide is better than fused alumina but much less than artificial diamond. Its mechanical depth is greater than fused alumina, but is brittle and extremely sharp. The mineral has some electrical and warmth conductivity.
